Plaza de la Villa
Is near the royal palace and not far from plaza mayor. Actually it's on Calle Mayor. The Casa de la Villa was built in the year 1640 as the municipality centre by Juan Gomez,as a shelter for the Casa Consistorial and the prison. It's got a splendid stairs of honour, the Hall of crystals and next to it the royal salon, where the Alegoria a Madrid by Francisco Goya is found. The salon has marvellous collection of Vases of Palomino. Not to forget the Altar la Gran Custodia de Plaza de la Villa de Madrid, built by francisco Alvarez in 1553 . In the salon you can find the famous tapices flamencos.
